Who We Are

Covenant HealthShare is a Health Care Sharing Ministry (HCSM) with you in mind, and our community has shared healthcare needs for nearly 30 years.† We provide Christians the opportunity to share in each other’s eligible medical needs through a faith-centered healthcare program. Covenant is the catalyst for the collection and distribution of its members’ medical sharing programs and we are a national, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization making a global impact through the support we provide to our members and other charitable organizations.

Share in the medical needs of your brothers and sisters

Covenant HealthShare is not insurance; it is a God honoring, voluntary commitment to share medical needs of your brothers and sisters in Christ. Our membership shares a common set of religious beliefs and make a covenant with one another to act and live responsibly.

Spread the Word of God

Covenant spreads the Word of God through sharing of medical needs and community outreach events; our ministry has created the opportunity to spread the Christian message while uplifting those around us. As he said to them in Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

Expand our community outreach

We expand ministry outreach at both the local and global level through various events, including food pantry ministries, toy drives, volunteer opportunities, mission trips and mentoring programs. As stated in Romans 12:13, “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need”.

A membership with Covenant HealthShare provides a value driven, God honoring health care alternative to Christians in most areas across the United States; your health sharing contribution makes a difference in your life, the lives of your brothers and sisters in Christ and the lives of those we can impact and lead to salvation.

A portion of your contribution will directly fund Covenant’s charitable account, which will be used to fund a variety of giving opportunities, including food pantry ministries, toy drives, volunteer opportunities, mission trips and mentoring programs. This account is utilized at the discretion of Covenant HealthShare’s Board of Directors and will be dispersed to non-profits that best align with the beliefs of our membership. Your contribution has a significant impact on your community and our world.

† Covenant HealthShare, Inc. (“Covenant HealthShare”) operates its health care sharing ministry as a successor-in-interest to the historical medical benevolent giving program established by its predecessor, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) ministry, that has been making regular benevolent distributions to members of its congregation and the communities it serves to assist such individuals with medical and other healthcare costs and expenses since 1991 (the “Program”). As its successor, Covenant HealthShare has formalized the Program and expanded the charitable and benevolent reach of the Program beyond its predecessor’s ministry to support all persons nationwide who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, and subscribe and commit to live in accordance with the teachings of the Bible and their faith in God.

Covenant HealthShare, Inc. (“Covenant”) is a non-profit health care sharing ministry (“HCSM”). As a HCSM, Covenant facilitates the sharing of medical expenses amongst its members, but Covenant is not an insurance company, and neither its guidelines nor program of operation is an insurance policy. Covenant members voluntarily share each other’s medical expenses in accordance with membership guidelines administered by Covenant and its affiliates. Sharing is available among members for all qualified medical expenses; however, Covenant does not guarantee or promise that your medical bills will be paid or assigned to other members for payment. Whether any other member chooses to contribute, in whole or in part, to the payment of your medical bills is completely voluntary on the part of that member. As such, membership in Covenant should never be considered as a substitute for an insurance policy. Whether you or your provider(s) receive any payments for medical expenses, and whether or not Covenant continues to operate, you are always liable for any unpaid medical bills. This HCSM is not regulated by state departments of insurance. Select states explicitly exempt HCSMs that, among other requirements, post a state specific notice advising consumers in such state that a HCSM is not an insurance company, does not offer or provide insurance policies, and is not insurance. As a HCSM, Covenant’s operations are exempt from insurance regulations. Although Covenant does not rely on such explicit exemptions under state law in order to operate as a HCSM, Covenant has chosen to publish these state specific notices.
