Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Saint Patrick’s Day, also referred to as the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a holiday we celebrate on the 17th of March every year. The holiday celebrates Saint Patrick, a Christian missionary and bishop from Ireland, who had a direct influence in the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. Saint Patrick used the shamrock as a tool in his teachings of Christianity in Ireland. The leaves of the Shamrock represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Traditionally, many commemorate Saint Patrick by getting together with friends, attending parades, and of course, wearing all things green. How do you plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year? A few of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day activities are listed below:
- Attend a St. Patrick’s Day parade. Many cities will have St. Patrick’s Day parade that locals can attend or be a part of.
- Eat Irish foods or green treats! Many often enjoy the traditional Irish dish of corned beef and cabbage, but if that isn’t your cup of tea, try a few of these fun green treats you can make at home!
- Play St. Patrick’s Day games! Create a pot-of-gold coin toss, have a shamrock craft decorating contest, or even have a scavenger hunt!
